a little hard on yourself, aren't you? who gives a damn what drives you to do good as long as you do it? What does it matter why you do better as long as you do? why do the factors that push you make a difference as long as you're happy? I don't think they do. I think you are being too hard on yourself in that you are undermining what power truly implies, a series of steps and hard work that allows you to be succesfully ambitious. I'm sure this isn't clear, I can barely understand it myself but what I'm trying to say is that there is nothing wrong with power, it's how you use it (and ergo why you wanted it...) that can become a problem. Don't discard it that easily. In my tiny and limited opinion, power used altruistically and for the bettering of the world is an AMAZING and GREAT tool.
How many times have you told me not to overanalyze things cause I'll lose it? I'm not implying that I've always listened or that I implement this theory but still, you've made a great point and maybe you ought to apply it here. I know I'm reading too much into your entry but you know I consider you an excellent leader and I would be dissapointed if you were to give up any sort of "power" you have now and not strive for any more because it can be dangerous. You've read The prince. Power is a tool and just like a hammer you can use it either to slam it into someone's head or build a house. You, mdear, do have the ability (as you have shown me countless times) to use power in a positive context; do.
